On Friday 20 May 2022, on the market square of the delegated municipality of Saint-Julien-le-Faucon, the new restaurant “Aux Saints Jus” was inaugurated, in the presence of Guillaume Lericolais, sub-prefect of Lisieux, Alexandra Marivingt and Xavier Charles departmental councilors , François Aubey, mayor of Mézidon-Vallée d’Auge, Benoît Charbonneau vice-president in charge of economic development of the urban community of Lisieux Normandy, Géraldine Tanquerel, deputy mayor of Saint-Julien-le-Faucon, the councilors of Mézidon-Vallée d’Auge, the city officials who participated in the project, as well as the financial partners, friends and families of Guillaume Armand and Pablo Jacob, the restaurant’s new restaurateurs.

Located in the heart of the city center of Saint-Julien-le-Faucon, the city of Mézidon-Vallée d’Auge decided to acquire this commercial space in 2019 to promote and support the local trade of this historic city. . The dilapidated parts were demolished in favor of new structures, adapted to health and regulatory needs, in proportions almost identical to those previously exploited. Following a tender, the city has decided to entrust the co-management of the completely rehabilitated restaurant to Guillaume Armand, sommelier, and Pablo Jacob, chef.

Financing

The property now benefits from a modern kitchen equipped with a large dining room that can seat around forty people. A terrace in the inner courtyard completes this workforce. The restaurant also has an additional capacity of about twenty seats, outdoors, on the street side, intended to enhance the business.

The financing of these investments is made up in part by the sale of housing located in the delegated municipality of Saint-Julien-le-Faucon and by subsidies granted for the revitalization of urban centers. The total amount of the operation amounts to 356,769 euros, an amount which corresponds to the purchase of the property, the missions of the SPS technical controller, the fees of the company in charge of the construction management, as well as the works. Subsidies and public aid amounted to 48.49%, broken down as follows: 21.02% from European Union funds, or 75,000 euros. 16.26% from the Rural Territories Equipment Endowment (DETR), or € 58,000. 11.21% from the competition fund of the Lisieux Normandy urban community, or 40,000 euros. The residual share for the city is 51.51%, or 183,769 euros, which will be covered by the restaurant rents. François Aubey concludes: “Opening Thursday 26 May, it will be prudent to book. “
